Artist Bio

Bruce Sudano has released his latest single, “Forbidden Fruit”, the first of several new songs he’s been writing and recording following the hugely successful launch of Summer: The Musical, the Tony-nominated Broadway production celebrating the life and music of his late wife Donna Summer.

The stark and folk-tinged track was recorded in NYC at Brooklyn’s The Creamery Studio, with the help of local singer Dina Regine (Jesse Malin, Bruce Springsteen) and producer Mike Montali (of Hollis Brown).   As Sudano told Billboard Magazine, who premiered the poignant black & white video for “Forbidden Fruit” today, the song reflects on his own recent rediscovery of temptation.  "Being a guy who was married for 30-plus years, and then finding himself back out in the world of single people and being out playing in clubs and being on the road and all that, it was kind of a reawakening, to me, of another realm that I hadn't been included in for a while. And I think temptation in itself isn't a bad thing. We're all subject to it. It's how you respond to the temptation, and that's what the song is about."

With at least half-a-dozen other songs in the pipeline, an EP or album release is likely on the horizon - time will tell.  "(Launching Summer: The Musical) kinda took me out of my own headspace for a minute.”, Sudano told Billboard, “I always gauge myself on, 'Am I writing?' and I'm never really fully happy unless I'm actually writing. So I'm trying to get my soul centered again so I can figure out what I need to say."

Sudano is planning a busy Fall, getting back to the business of writing and recording songs, and performing them to whoever will listen.  After a press jaunt in Milan, Italy, Bruce will be showcasing at NERFA and Folk Alliance, and performing a handful of NorthEast dates with two of his hit-writing peers - Dan Navarro and Chas Sandford -  in a new series they’ve aptly named “Threefer Madness”.
